2005/2006 Winter Season

2006 was a good season all round with a lot of mixed emotion and a number of highs and lows for the snow sports community. This was one of the most dangerous winters in the Alps in years and we lost some great people and icons of the sport. But a lot of respect was gained for our mountains. On the Upside we have seen snowboarding develop into a more recognized sport in the mainstream with BoarderX gaining some of the best viewing figures of all the Olympic disciplines, also in the half pipe the snowboarding athletes showing the world that competing is not everything, its about having fun!

The Nike ACG team 05/06

The season has seen the UK Nike ACG team develop both as a group and as key individuals in the UK scene. Undoubtedly, the presence of Dan and Zoe at the Olympics was of particular significance, but the continued development of Paddy and Murray are also of real importance. Bolstering the team with 2 new boarders has only added to the overall dynamic and both Angus and Rebecca have been wholeheartedly accepted into the ‘family’. Let’s not forget Noddy though, who capped another strong season with his second place at the Red Bull Snowthrill.

KAOS Goes to University of the Arts to Source new Staff

Jimmy and I headed to the University of the Arts this week in search of new staff at one of their recruitment days.

At the last minute we released we had no posters so Jimmy gets his photoshop skills to work and is well stoked with his results (you can seee them in the background of this photo). Its a great shot of Christophe Allary one of the Hurley surfers and another of Noddy Gowans doing a one handed hand-stand on the side of cliff that looks well knarl.

Anyway, we are still looking for staff so if you want a job a day a week to run our finances or you want a fulltime gig and see yourself as being an outdoor specialist that has the skills to train in-store staff on the benefits of Nike ACG clothing, give us a call. BUSC 2006

This was the first year that Nike ACG has supported BUSC and this proved to be an overwhelming success! The event was covered in Nike ACG branding, practically everywhere you looked you saw the orange banners and the Nike ACG Uniforms. We managed to get Paddy, Noddy, Angus, Dan, Muz and Tom out at the event in next years kit to show off their skills in the opening ceremony and judge the rest of the competitions. Fun was had by everyone and this proved to be an excellent bonding session for the team.

Dolomites Road Trip

Recently the Nike ACG team have been on a Dolomites Road Trip, taking a tour around some of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Europe in conjunction with Fall Line/Document Snowboard Magazine (http://www.fall-line.co.uk/) and the Snow Guide. The team all worked hard and got some great shots. Unfortunately you need to wait till later in the year to check out the great pictures and story. But here is one of the pics to wet your appetite;
